Monroe Giveaway Draws Big Crowd
The annual Monroe Giveaway, spearheaded by Mrs. Guthierwas held on Saturday, November 19th as James Monroe Elementary entered the Thanksgiving break. Teachers and staff prepared the cafeteria and rooms for the giveaway after school on the Friday before. So many people contributed to make this annual event a big success, including those who donated clothing, items, and toys.
On Saturday, the day of the giveaway, families were lined up outside for hours before doors opened. The line stretched past the cafeteria and down past the stop sign.
It was a huge success. Thank you again to everyone who made it so our community could get some much needed items.
